MIRPUR – Bangladesh defeated Ireland by seven wickets in their one-off test on Friday, comfortably chasing down the 138 runs needed for victory on the fourth day in Mirpur after an inspired fightback by the touring side a day earlier. Tamim Iqbal (31) and Mushfiqur Rahim (51 not out) took the hosts close to their target in an excellent morning session and they crossed the finish line on a deteriorating wicket shortly after lunch.
